Intelligences

We are becoming capable of recognizing intelligences that were always present.

A forest has always expressed ecological intelligence.

A flock has always expressed participatory intelligence.

Music has always expressed harmonic intelligence.

Living systems have always expressed coherence intelligence.

Communities have always expressed relational intelligence.

Civilizations have always depended upon continuity intelligence.

None of these are new.

What’s new is our ability to see them, name them, design with them, and intentionally incorporate them into technology, organizations, communities, and planetary systems.

For a long time, intelligence became synonymous with:

• computation

• reasoning

• prediction

• optimization

Which are certainly forms of intelligence.

But they are not the whole landscape.

It’s almost as though humanity is rediscovering that intelligence was never located solely inside individual minds.

It has always been distributed throughout relationship, participation, environment, pattern, and coherence itself.

Perhaps what is emerging isn’t a new intelligence revolution.

Perhaps it is an expansion of what we are willing to recognize as intelligence.

Not created.

Not invented.

Not added.

Simply becoming visible.

Much like Lumasphere itself.

The field was already here.
