Reset identity
For thousands of years, human beings have organized around identity structures.
Tribes.
Roles.
Names.
Beliefs.
Professions.
Status.
Affiliations.
Stories.
Even spiritual communities often organize around new identities.
New labels.
New frameworks.
New ways of locating ourselves.

What I’m proposing is simple.
Not the destruction of identity.
Not the rejection of identity.
Just a temporary suspension of it.
A gentle setting aside.
An opportunity to discover:
What remains when identity is no longer doing all the work?
The possibility that people might directly experience themselves and others before the usual identity structures engage.
Not permanently.
Just for a moment.
Like a brief reset on identity structures.

A reset is not a removal.
A reset is a remembering.
Because nothing is being taken away.
Names still exist.
Stories still exist.
Lives still exist.
The structures remain available.
We are simply creating a space where they don’t have to be the primary lens.

What if this opens a possibility that allows identity to return to its proper place?
A useful tool.
Not the entirety of connection.
Not the entirety of relationship.
Not the entirety of being.

Maybe that’s the reset.
Not a reset on identity itself.
A reset on our relationship to identity.
A remembering that beneath every name, role, biography, achievement, wound, belief, and story…
there is first:
Presence.
💜
And perhaps we’ve forgotten how powerful that is.
Perhaps this is a moment to rediscover it.
